This Summer, some good friends of mine brought me back some beautiful stones from the Reynisfjara Beach on the South coast of Iceland. Those rocks, formed from cooled lava, are often used by massage therapists as they retain heat extremely well and the heat they release gets deep into the skin and muscles providing relaxation and relief from tension.

Some of the benefits of hot stone massage are:

Last year, I read this great book titled The 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma. Although my 5 AM is really a 5:30 AM, I've been truly enjoying waking up before the sun. There is something magical to me and peaceful about this simple act.  The book talks about protocols and tactics and one of them caught my attention.

Tactic #6: The 2 Massage Protocol (2MP)

I'll let you read below what it says. I meant to post something right away after I read it and I forgot... but today,  a new client came for a session, because of that exact protocol!

I personally think that this quote is true for so many other things like investing in eating healthy clean food, exercising, your mental health. These all cost money, but being sick is more expensive.

I am excited to announce that I found a beautiful space to reopen my business in Utah. It will be located in the historic Draper Park School. Stay tuned!

Last Saturday, I closed the door of my beautiful practice in Colorado. I have made many great connections and friends and I am so grateful for everyone who trusted me with their massage therapy treatments. Without you, I would't have been able to build this successful business.

I am really excited for what's next to come, for this new adventure.

On Friday May 8th, Boulder County is moving it's stay-at-home order to the safer at home phase.

To keep my office space safe, I will be following theses new guidelines:

• I will be wearing a mask at all times and ask that each patient please wear a mask during their entire time in my office. 
• I am scheduling extra time between each patient so I can disinfect all surfaces.
• Before you enter the treatment room you will need to wash you hands with soap and water  There is a sink in the atrium and one in each of the bathrooms to wash hands before and after treatments.  Please take the time to wash your hands before and after your treatment time.  
• Please avoid bringing anyone with you to your appointment.

I’m asking all patients to please call, email or text to cancel you appointment if you have any of the following symptoms:

• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Chills
• Repeated shaking with chills
• Muscle pain
• Headache
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment mandated that all business conducting “nonessential personal services” close to entry, exit, use and occupancy by members of the public through April 30, 2020. Dear Licensee:
This afternoon, Governor Jared Polis announced a number of state actions to further address the spread and impact of COVID-19. Among those actions is an updated order from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) mandating that all businesses conducting “nonessential personal services” close to entry, exit, use, and occupancy by members of the public through April 30, 2020.
This order, effective immediately, impacts DORA licensees in the Barber/Cosmetology and Massage Therapy fields. Hair stylists, nail technicians, barbers, estheticians, cosmetologists, massage therapists, and shop owners in the barber/cosmetology industry licensed by the Division of Professions and Occupations are impacted.
Updated Public Health Order 20-22 defines nonessential personal services as “services and products that are not necessary to maintain an individual’s health or safety, or the sanitation or essential operation of a business or residence. Nonessential personal services include, but are not limited to, hair or nail salons, spas, or tattoo or massage parlors.”
The order strictly mandates closure of businesses falling under the definition of “non-essential personal services,” and not individuals who provide these services outside of a business; however, DORA strongly recommends all licensed professionals adhere to CDPHE’s guidance regarding social distancing. Under this guidance, individuals are advised not to invite visitors or non-essential service workers into their homes. 
The CDPHE order also includes previous statewide closures of other multiple business types, including bars, restaurants, theaters, gymnasiums, casinos, and other nonessential personal services facilities in Colorado in an effort to protect and preserve the public health. The Order has been deemed necessary to control any potential transmission of disease to others and to avoid overwhelming the state’s healthcare system.
Licensees should check their email and the DORA COVID-19 Updates for Licensees and Consumers site for additional updates, as they become available.
General information on symptoms, testing, prevention, quarantine measures and more related to the Coronavirus is available on the Centers for Disease Control and CDPHEwebsites. 

I am cancelling clients until April 1st and will send an update as we get closer to that date hoping the situation gets better.

This is my part to help mitigate or flatten the curve of this outbreak.

I am back from Canada where I worked with Rally UHC at the Canadian National Championships. The team did great and won THREE National Titles.

I am out of the office to visit family and work with Rally Cycling at the Canadian National Championships.
